(English for Academic Purposes, i.e. EAP)是指进入高等教育,或国际课程(如AP、A- LEVEL、IB)后,接触到的专业英语类型。

Today I would like to say something about museums should be free, or visitors should pay for admission. Well, I think that museums should be free for young students and old people. Here are my reasons. First, the museum plays an important educational role. If they are free for students, it’ll encourage schools to take students for a bit visiting in museums. Second, if they’re free for old people, the old won’t be getting all the information from newspapers and radio. Third, when the museum is not free for some certain people, the adults of some kind won’t be getting in the museum just for taking a rest.
Museum is an instructive area where people can acquire information, some of which are free while some are not. As far as I am concerned, museums may charge a certain group of people but be free for youngsters and seniors. If museums are accessible without payment, schools will be encouraged to organize students to visit them, where vivid photographs and videos are provided. Also, free access allows seniors to obtain information beside newspapers and radio. However, for a certain group of visitors who usually take advantages of museum to rest or play in, a ticket might be in necessity so as to avoid any inappropriate behaviour and guarantee the quiet environment.

The all-round English ability of our students is getting better and better. However, as most of them have seldom been exposed to academic English before, we have to train them from the very beginning.

网赌ag追杀征兆|HOMEag9.tv|开户At the beginning of 2015, I began the studying in EAP. At first, I could not successfully get involved in class. Instead, I felt I was just a spectator, listened teacher speaking and the discussion of other classmates. Gradually, I thought having such lessons was extremely boring. However, after a half-year studying in it, I felt that I definitely changed a lot. Because of the vivid teaching ways of those lovely teachers, I started to become interested in the class and tried to communicate with other students. What’s more, the relationship between students also became closer. The most important thing I gained from these lessons is a lot of useful knowledge. It not only helps me improve myself but also plays a significant role in my school life. Thanks to my persistence, I acquired plenty of beneficial things as well as made friends with lots of people.

My study in the EAP course has helped me a lot in improving academic English. In class, everybody is free to use English to express their opinions, which offers a perfect chance to practice my oral English. Besides developing English skills, studying academic English has made me a more organized person. In speaking and writing class, I learnt to state my opinion within a clear, logical structure. Moreover, the idea of critical thinking has also influenced me a lot. All in all, the course has been very helpful in a variety of ways.

EAP was an amazing program! Personally, I think it was the best English program I have ever been enrolled in. The program gives me a deeper insight into academic English and the way westerners think. By exposing me to various conditions and topics under the environment of native English, my knowledge of western culture and skills of critical thinking would definitely be improved. What’s more, academic English will not be so abstract; instead the experience of learning is really exhilarating.

Reading Workshop读书会
?

“Writing is learned by imitation. If anyone asked me how I learned to write, I?would?say I learned by reading the men and women who were doing the kind of writing I wanted to do and trying to figure out how they did it.”

William Zinsser ON WRITING WELL

?
